Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf named in ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year 2024

Pakistani cricketers Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf have been included in the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year for 2024. This honour highlights their amazing performances in international cricket over the past year.

 

Saim Ayub had a fantastic year, scoring 515 runs in nine matches, including three centuries and one half-century. He had an impressive average of 64.37 and a strike rate of 105.53. His first ODI century came against Zimbabwe, and he continued his strong performance in South Africa, averaging 78.3.

Shaheen Shah Afridi also stood out with 15 wickets in six ODI matches. He had a bowling average of 17.6 and a best performance of 4/47, proving himself as one of the world’s best bowlers.

Haris Rauf was another key performer, taking 13 wickets in eight matches, including a five-wicket haul of 5/29. He played an important role in Pakistan’s successful ODI series win in Australia, taking 10 wickets in total.

Other top players in the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year include Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Afghanistan), Pathum Nissanka (Sri Lanka), Kusal Mendis (Sri Lanka, WK), Charith Asalanka (Sri Lanka, C), Sherfane Rutherford (West Indies), Azmatullah Omarzai (Afghanistan), Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka), and AM Ghazanfar (Afghanistan).
